How to play Aviator in South Africa

Eight steps in the order that costs the least: learn on demo credits first, then choose a site, then deposit.

Step by step

How to play Aviator in South Africa: from first practice round to first withdrawal

This guide takes the order that costs the least. You learn the game on demo credits first, then choose a site, then deposit. Skipping the first step is an expensive shortcut.

  1. Practise on the demo

Open the practice round and play twenty rounds by hand. Then set an auto cash-out and play twenty more. You are learning two things: how fast a round ends, and how different a 1.5x target feels from a 5x target.

  2. Choose a licensed operator

In South Africa the authority is the Provincial licensing authorities, coordinated by the National Gambling Board. Look the operator up on that authority's own list. A badge in a footer is a claim. The regulator's list is the evidence. The operators we list for this market are on the Aviator sites table.

  3. Register and verify your identity

You will be asked for your name, date of birth and phone number, and for an ID document before a withdrawal. Use your real details. An account in another person's name can have its withdrawals refused.

  4. Make a first deposit

Deposit with PayShap, Ozow or 1Voucher. Start with an amount you have already decided you can lose. If a welcome bonus is offered, read its wagering rule before you accept it, because Aviator stakes often do not count toward one.

  5. Find Aviator in the lobby

The game sits in the casino or games section, usually under a crash or instant games tab. The search box finds it faster than the menus. Check that the tile says Spribe.

  6. Place a small first bet

Set the stake before the round starts and press Bet during the betting window. Leave the second bet panel alone until one bet feels routine.

  7. Cash out, or let auto cash-out do it

Press Cash out while the plane is flying, or set a multiplier in the Auto tab beforehand. On a weak connection the auto setting is safer, because it does not depend on your tap arriving in time.

  8. Withdraw the way you deposited

Most operators pay a withdrawal back to the method that funded the account. Expect an identity check the first time. Keep the transaction reference until the money arrives.

Before your first real round

  • Set a deposit limit in the account's responsible gambling settings. It takes a minute and it holds when your judgement does not.
  • Fix a session budget in ZAR and a time to stop. Rounds are seconds long, so a session has no natural end.
  • Decide your cash-out target first. Changing it mid-session after a loss is chasing, whatever it feels like.
  • Ignore predictors. No app, bot or Telegram group can see a round before it starts.

Using the two bet panels

Aviator lets you place two bets on one round, each with its own cash-out. A common way to use them is one bet with a low auto cash-out and one left to run longer. This changes how the session feels: the low bet wins often and softens the misses on the high one.

It does not change the arithmetic. Each bet carries the same 3% edge, so two bets are simply twice the amount staked per round. Use the second panel if you like the rhythm, not because it is safer.

The basics

How a round works

Each round has three parts and they always come in the same order. A short betting window opens. The plane takes off and the multiplier climbs from 1.00x. Then the round ends, either for you when you cash out or for everyone when the plane flies away.

  1. Place a betBet in the short window before take-off. Two bets can run on the same round.
  2. Watch it climbThe multiplier rises from 1.00x. It can end at once or run past 100x.
  3. Cash outBy hand, or set auto cash-out at a fixed multiplier before the round starts.
How one Aviator round plays out The multiplier rises along a curve from 1.00x. A player who cashes out at 2.40x keeps the win. The round then ends when the plane flies away at 3.10x. Take-off · 1.00x Cash out at 2.40x stake × 2.40 is yours Flew away at 3.10x bets still in are lost
One round, drawn by us: the curve is the multiplier, the green point is a cash-out, the dark box is where the round ends. This is an illustration, not a screenshot of the game.

Two details catch new players. First, a round can end at exactly 1.00x. When it does, every bet loses, including bets with an auto cash-out set, because there was never a moment to leave. Second, a manual cash-out depends on your connection. The game records the cash-out when your tap reaches the server, not when your thumb moves, so on a slow network the number you get can be lower than the number you saw, or the round can end first.

South Africa only

How Aviator plays in South Africa

Gambling in South Africa is licensed province by province. Each of the nine provinces has its own licensing authority, and the National Gambling Board coordinates them under the National Gambling Act, 2004. A licence therefore names a province. Find the province in the site footer and check the licence with that province's authority.

The nine are the Eastern Cape, the Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, the North West, the Northern Cape and the Western Cape. A bookmaker licensed in one of them shows the name of that province's gambling board, so the footer of a South African betting site reads differently from the footer of an international one. If no province is named, the site does not hold a South African licence.

Three payment routes are specific to this market. PayShap is the banks' instant payment service. Ozow is an instant EFT service that pays straight from your banking app. 1Voucher is a prepaid voucher: you buy it with cash at a shop and redeem it on the betting site with a PIN.

A voucher is a way in, not a way out. Withdrawals are paid by another route, usually a bank transfer, so the account still needs your bank details and an identity check. Look at the withdrawal screen before you buy a voucher.

The offers in the table above are capped in rand, at R2,000 and R3,000. On a bonus with five-times accumulator wagering, a R2,000 bonus means R10,000 of qualifying sports bets before anything can be withdrawn. Aviator rounds are not sports bets, so they do not move that counter.

The arithmetic of rand stakes is worth seeing once. Ten rand a round across three hundred rounds is three thousand rand through the game. The practice round above starts at R10 so a demo session adds up the way a real one would.

Set the auto cash-out before the round if you play on mobile data. A manual tap has to reach the server before the plane flies away, and load on the network adds a delay you cannot see.

FAQ

How to play Aviator in South Africa: questions and answers

How do I deposit in rand to play Aviator?

Use instant EFT, PayShap or a prepaid voucher where the cashier lists them. Check the withdrawal screen as well, because a voucher cannot receive a withdrawal.

What ID do I need?

Operators ask for identity details at registration and for documents before a withdrawal. The exact list is on the account's verification page.

Can I practise Aviator in rand first?

Yes. The demo on our South Africa page shows stakes and balance in rand-denominated demo credits. No money is involved.

How we check

Operator details are the figures each site publishes, and a field we do not hold is marked “Not confirmed”. Regulator, law and age limits come from the authority's own material. The odds, the calculator and the simulator all come from the provider's stated 97% return.
